A 22-ft., Classic New England-built sloop, designed by the famous Swedish naval architect, Carl Alberg 

 

• APRIL 7, 1983; East Taunton, Massachusetts: Cape Dory Yachts completes the lay up of CD22D Hull #144.

• May 1983; Huntington, NY: Cape Dory Yachts delivers CD22D Hull #144 from its factory in East Taunton, MA, to Cape Dory dealer Coney’s Marine in Huntington, NY. The Captain lived in Forest Hills, Queens at the time while pursuing his early career on Wall Street.

• May 1983; Coney’s Marine completes the outfitting and installation of equipment on CD22D, Hull #144 to the Captains specifications, and he and a close friend Christen her s/v Vent d’Ete.

Early June 1983; Huntington, NY: Sea trials begin on Long Island Sound.
